me-maw & paw-paw

i feel so fortunate to have my grandparents, reese's great-grandparents, so close to us. they don't live in the same city, but it's just a short day trip to visit them. we had a great visit on friday and they loved playing with reese. they know a thing or 2 about babies b/c they had 8! first they had 2 within 15 months and then 8 years later, this is the real shocker...they had 6 babies in 7 years!!! can you imagine??? having that many kids in the 50's would have been easier because you didn't have to buckle everyone up in car seats and seatbelts. you would have just put them in the car, closed the door and started driving! anyway, my grandparents (my mom's parents) are doing great! i love you me-maw & paw-paw!

me-maw, thank you so much for the beautiful painting! you are truly a talented artist!

it's very special to me to have a painting that my grandmother painted. i love the magnolias because it reminds me of when i was a child at their home. they had these 2 huge magnolia trees in their backyard that my cousins and i spent hours climbing. it was so fun! unfortunatly the trees had to come down b/c they were going to mess up the foundation of the house. :( i'm still sad about that. i also love the painting because it has psalm 23:1-4. "The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."
