sorry i haven't posted in a while. i'm probably just as tired of seeing the same post when i pull up my blog as you are. we have it set as our homepage, so we see it all the time. but, now i think it's time for a change, so i'll play a little catch up.
i'm trying to think about what we've been up to. currently we are battling reese's allergies. she's had little, red, puffy eyes for several days and yesterday the coughing, sneezing and runny nose came in full force. she sounds terrible. poor thing. i called the nurse at the doctor's office and she suggested a couple of different meds, so we ran to the drugstore after dinner last night. you can kind of see the red, puffy eyes in this picture of reese standing at the window watching the rain.

reese is really trying to pull up on everything. she made it to a full standing position on the recliner twice. she's also really trying to crawl on all fours. she's done it a few times, but resorts back to the commando crawl a lot. we hope she's full on crawling by the time she's one year old.
we are making the transition from formula to milk since we're so close to reese's 1st birthday (june 21).(i stopped nursing a couple of weeks ago. i was sad, but it's very freeing!) we're going with soy milk right now b/c she'll drink that straight. we are also trying to make the transition from bottles to sippy cups, but she still has a bottle in the picture below. she looks like such a big girl with her new shoes... she loves handing her shoes to you so you can put them on her feet.

i've been working on some different crafty projects. 2 of them are featured below. these are pictures up in reese's room & bathroom. i got the ideas out of the pottery barn kids catalog. i try not to keep those around the house b/c i just look and want, want, want, but can't afford. but i do get some cute ideas from them. i made the pictures below out of construction paper and/or scrapbook paper. the pictures on the yellow wall are above reese's crib. it's butterflies flying above her garden bedding (it has flowers all over). the other pictures that look like little kids made them are in the bathroom. they add a little more color to the boring white walls in there. (sorry for the poor lighting in that picture. it's bad in there. thankfully we don't get ready in that bathroom.)

i've said before that we watch the birds out the window, but i bring it up again b/c i caught a picture of them on our balcony rail. i tried to catch the pretty blue jay, but he flew away. it's kind of creepy looking at the birds b/c they are looking in the window at me! it's like they are spying on us!

we had a pretty low-key weekend. matt played a little soccer, i got to run errands by myself (fabulous!), we dipped in the pool, we visited babies-r-us to look at car seats, watched oceans twelve on tv, went to church, took naps, and just hung out. it was nice! even though i am technically working 24/7, the weekends really are like a break for me just b/c matt is around to help. i struggle with if i ask him to do too much on the weekends b/c i'm not sure what is the right balance. he enjoys the things he does and i still do some things too, so i guess we're at the right balance already! cool.
that's pretty much our update.

your butterfly turned out super cute!
We call Pottery Barn catalogs "house porn" at our house! I love to steal ideas too....yours turned out so cute!
Gotta watch out for that "porn" - Somehow I got a potterybarn kids last week(even though I don't have kids) and I found myself really wanting a baby only to decorate their nursery! However, I love how you were able to constructively use their ideas.
funny - you recreated the same things that i was thinking about in the pb kids catalog. everything looks great!
i'm with you on just wanting things i can't have out of the pb catalogs. i now tear out the pages that i can use for ideas and keep them all in a binder. it's great for a rainy day!
