great visit

boy, did we enjoy gram + papa's visit! reese might have liked it the most b/c she got all the extra attention she ever wanted for 2 whole weeks! (we are now having lots of whining withdrawls.) she had a great time playing with her gram + papa and picked a perfect time to show off all the new words she can say. here's a quick list...dog, woof, bear, bib, spoon, eat, apple, bread, duck, meow, hop, buzz like a bee, hat, clip, bath, off, amen, write, watch, door, light, bite, book, read, eye, hand, step, up, more (not just referring to food), milk, water, night-night, hi and byE (trying to emphasize the E). there might be more by the time you read this b/c she is busting out with new words all the time right now!

gram spoiled reese just as any grandparent is supposed to. out of all the toys gram brought, i think the shopping cart with plastic food that is probably the biggest hit! she pushes this thing all around the flat and gets in my way in our tiny kitchen!

i have to say our visit from gram + papa started out a little rocky. first, a man had a heart attack on one of their flights so they had an emergency landing that threw off the rest of their itinerary. thankfully, they only ended up getting here five hours later than planned. matt was out of town on business and i could hardly stand waiting for them! they arrived safely, but their bags didn't. good news though...they arrived by 10a.m. the next morning. we got out of the house that afternoon.

reese got to show gram + papa all the fun toys at the indoor playhouse.

mom was so kind to bring a ton of stuff over for me that i can't get here, one of which is good peanut butter. it's available, but i hear it's not worth trying. well, she brought a jar of jiff and a jar of natural pb for me. well, the natural pb in the glass jar broke in the bag and got all over everything! nothing was unusable, but we spent a good hour cleaning the peanut butter off everything! we'll always remember this pb incident! ha! that evening reese came down with a bug and threw up all over gram. ick! poor reesey boo! and gram! after she got that out of her system she was fine. matt arrived home later that night after we were all in bed and then the next morning we just relaxed around the flat until i sneezed and threw my back out! i couldn't move. i spent the day in bed trying not to move because it hurt too bad. mom and dad went out exploring on their own while matt stayed home with me and took care of reese. my back hurt for about 4-5 days to were i couldn't lift reese and could hardly bend over at the sink to wash my face, but then god answered my prayers and healed me. i haven't had a problem since.

the rest of their visit was great. we did a ton of other things while they were here including a trip to prague. more to come on those things later!

the only table we have to eat on in our flat is in our tiny kitchen and it only seats three. perfect for us on a day to day basis, but not good for having company. this is a picture of our attempt to have everyone eat together. we brought in the bench from the bathroom and an ottoman from the living room. notice the shopping cart shoved in there too!

all guests must try the túró rudi. i think they liked it!

gram + papa also brought a special christmas outfit for reese this year. thank you, mom, for the adorable outfit + shoes!
