this is a good one

here's another tale from monkey land, as our landlord referred to hungary...

the satellite to our television has been out for over a month now, so we had the service guy come out and take a look at it. i'm so glad i had a hungarian friend over who could translate for me because i never would have gotten this story correct! the guy went up to the roof to check out the satellite and found that the part of the satellite had been sawed off! yes, sawed off! there is a bunch of construction on the building next door and apparently with the way the satellite was positioned, it was in the construction worker's way, so they got rid of the problem! can you believe that?! i couldn't help but laugh in my shock. i mean, what do you say to that?!

we have our "people" working on the issue, so hopefully it will get resolved soon! we have sort of temporarily fixed the problem...we bought a dvd player that plays dvds from any region. now we can play dvds from region 1 (usa) and region 2 (hungary) on the tv. we aren't sure why we didn't do this when we got here, but we love it now! reese spent an hour in front of the tv watching "the sound of music" yesterday! she wasn't a huge fan of the lion king, unlike matt, but she sure loved "the sound of music". i think she liked the children and the music, especially dancing with momma to the music.
