it's technically spring, but it still feels like winter. :( i'm holding out hope that spring will come soon! thankfully we had a beautiful day to visit the spring festival set up in vörösmarty tér. (tér means square)

i know i've mentioned the kürtöskalács a couple of times before, but they are so good that they are worth mentioning again! i was finally able to capture a photo of the traditional way of toasting these yummy things. we got the one on the end right off the hot coals.

the booths set up at the markets are so neatly decorated. it's not just a little tin booth with a window and a pot full of food or plastic igloo cooler filled with hot wine, but neat pots to create a great atmosphere. notice the old stoves, fire wood, pictures, signs, wood cabinets in the back and whatever else you can see - even the servers outfits. i think it's so cool!

katie + mom got to enjoy some hot wine.

the scene. everyone's facing me b/c i stopped in front of the music stage to snap this pic.
