it's officially spring!

i think i can say it's officially spring now! yea!!! i've waited a long time for this! :) it's pretty consistently getting in the 60s everyday and i'm lovin' it!!

the new header picture and the one below were taken at our neighborhood park. it's just gorgeous! i love, love, love the beautiful tulips! they are such a treat b/c they aren't typically grown in texas.

other signs of spring in budapest:

beautiful flowers everywhere

the sun

cafe tables outside again

ice cream stands

gelato in the pastry shops

river boats in the danube river

tourist buses

lots of confused people looking around with maps in hand

more people outside in general

english being spoken on the streets

wearing shoes without socks

and the best one: no more big coats! long sleeves still and occasionally a sweater, but no more big pink coat for reese! the other day when reese and i headed to the park we were about to walk out the door and she said "coat" because we always put on a coat. i told her "we don't need a coat today. it's really warm." and i promise she looked at me like i was crazy! it was too funny! she has only known putting on her big pink coat for like the past 5-6 months!

Hey Hilary! The first sign of Spring really arriving in Denver is the day everyone's tulips bloom overnight. Like magic, all of a sudden they are everywhere. I had no idea when I lived in Texas and it is one of my favorite things about living in Co. Your post totally reminded me about it (it hasn't happened yet this year).
Cheers, Samantha

So jealous of the tulips!---the cactus blooms here are pretty--but I'd take a tulip over that any day!

Those tulips are just gorgeous! I remember all of the tulips in Colorado, and they were beautiful!

Enjoy the spring and make us all jealous when we're in 100 degree heat here pretty soon. ;) Beautiful picture of the tulips & Reese.

congratulations...you've made it! Today it reached 60 degrees, so i think we are almost there, too - may even go downtown this weekend to see if the tulips have bloomed in the public garden. spencer asked for his coat today too!
