budapest babies

it's always fun to be pregnant with someone to share the joys and challenges of pregnancy. that friend for me while in budapest is catherine. she's from south africa and lives just across the street from me. we were due with in two days of each other, so were experiencing the same sleep challenges, growing stages, etc. at the same time. one thing that made it fun to be pregnant with her was that she and her husband, ross, didn't know the gender of their baby either.

here we are in april, which i think was when we were about seven months along. this is catherine and ross's first baby and i probably overloaded her with my mom opinions as most mom's do.

here we are nearing our nine month mark, both very ready to sleep comfortably again. i look bigger because i had the bigger baby.

and here are our babies! i had a boy and catherine had a girl! her sweet little ariana arrived just ten days after matson. it's amazing to me just how much bigger matson looks than ariana! he was about a pound and a half bigger than her, but goodness, look that the difference. the other amazing thing is that reese was half a pound smaller than ariana when she was born! i can barely remember just how small my reese was.

and now we get to share our "mother of a newborn" life together. we haven't seen each other much since the babies arrived, but once we start getting a little more sleep, i'm sure we will.

Great story about friendship in budapest! Also, I love when you post frequently (guess matson and reesey-boo are taking good naps these days!) - dre
