playing tourist

we've been playing tourist with my parents. last tuesday evening we all went on a boat cruise on the danube river, something we've wanted to do since we moved here. we pushed reese way past her bedtime for the 8:15 p.m. cruise and she did really well. she was exhausted after running all over the boat and drinking a ton of apple juice - not something we typically do at 9 o'clock at night, but since everyone else had a glass of champaign, she needed something too. surprisingly she went down just fine at around 10:00.

the boat cruise was really neat. it was cool to see the "pearl of the danube" from the water - a different vantage point for us. (fyi: one of budapest's nicknames is "pearl of the danube".) i wasn't able to take pictures while on the cruise because i was either feeding matson or keeping him warm. it was a bit chilly out that night if you can't tell by our jackets. it was a beautiful and relaxing cruise.



we went to hősök tere (heroes' square) where mom posed for a photo. why is she standing there reading a magazine along a busy street? well, world magazine has asked their readers to send in pictures of people reading the magazine in different places around the world. maybe she'll be published?! we plan to get her pic in front of parliament too, maybe a landmark a little more well known thank hősök tere.
