happy thanksgiving

it's thanksgiving in the united states today. we are having a nontraditional thanksgiving over here in budapest. obviously hungary does not celebrate thanksgiving, but the americans living here do. matt took the day off. we had planned to have a family picture taken in the morning and then go over to a family's home from church for a traditional american meal, but sadly that's not happening. reese was really, really sick yesterday so we canceled our plans and instead are taking her to the doctor. :( she seems to be feeling better today given the stress level in our home has gone back up several notches, but she is still having a tough time breathing. not good. {BREAK FOR DOCTOR APPT} okay, we are back from the doctor's visit. she has a cold. that's it. and matson has it too. the doctor understood us bringing her in because we are first time parents, so we used it as a learning experience and asked her more questions about when to bring a sick child in. we consider it a productive (yet stressful) meeting. our thanksgiving day meal(s) consisted of sunny-side up eggs with toasted sun-dried tomato bread for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch and left overs for dinner. nice huh?! i did get us some apple pastries for dessert from cafe europa around the corner since we didn't get to have pumpkin or apple pie. yum! happy thanksgiving!

Hope Reese is already feeling better! Got news for ya momma--you're officially not first time parents--you guys are now seasoned professionals!

um, first time with a two year old. we are definitely NOT professionals when it comes to that age! we learn (and struggle) everyday!
