the other special thing about that weekend was the dobbins! our dear friends, the dobbins, came in town for the wedding and we got to spend time with them. teri and i got together for coffee saturday morning - kid free! saturday at the wedding we got to see justin and then sunday after nap time the kids joined us. it was so fun to see them!! our families have gone from knowing each other during our single days to both having two kids. the last time we saw the dobbins reese was matson's age - 7 mo - 2 years ago! what a treat to see them. anyway...we thought the girls would have so much fun playing together b/c teri and i get along so well, but we think reese and lilly are a little too much alike. we still had fun admiring each others kids though. :)
lilly (3), tyson (18 mo), matson (6 mo), reese (2 1/2)
back to the whirlwind...just before the wedding weekend we had to take reese to the doctor b/c she was having a terrible time breathing, so we are beginning down the asthma road. :( she did a couple of breathing treatments at the doctor's office which made a world of a difference. she started talking after that. she hadn't been talking all morning b/c she had to work so hard at breathing. poor thing. then she took some medicine and an inhaler for the following days. she's doing much better.
the next week matson had his check up which i wrote about, i got to go out for a girls' night to dinner and the opera to see "a midsummer night's dream", we looked at two different houses (we are looking to buy a house), reese had mother's day out and that thursday teri and i got spend a little more time together chasing after our kids at the park...

the next weekend we chilled out on saturday and then packed up our corporate apartment to move again on tuesday. we found an apartment close to where we are looking to buy a house to make it easier to look and also get familiar with the area. monday evening matt, nathan and chris moved a bunch of stuff over to the new place. tuesday matt received our ocean shipment of stuff. wednesday i received all of our stuff out of storage. we didn't really want to get everything out of storage, but we needed the furniture, ya know a couch, table + chairs, stuff like that that makes a home. we don't need the stuff out of the boxes so we are waiting to open those until we move AGAIN into a house. for now we have boxes stacked up everywhere. not so pretty to look at, but i'd rather not pack it up when we move again. that wednesday was crazy! dear sweet amy came to my rescue. she lives in the complex and came over to help me with the kids while the movers were here. i can't imagine how i would have done that by myself! and, sol brought over lunch for us all. wow. i have great friends!!! also, my parents came that day to bring our twin bed that we had stored at there house so reese would have a bed. they helped me arrange furniture and then drove back to g-town. we are slowly getting settled into this apartment. i still need to buy some other things like another shower curtain! so we don't have to take it from bathroom to bathroom to take a shower! why are we doing that you ask? see previous post.
matt's parents came to town friday to watch the kids that night so we could go to a marriage conference and so they could drop lori off at the airport on saturday morning. i have mentioned that matt's parents moved to port arthur, haven't i? we love having them close by! it's only an hour and a half drive. saturday we finished up the conference, chilled the rest of the day and then did the superbowl thing on sunday with matt's dad and brother.
...do you see the whirlwind we are living in? it just seems like something is going on all the time. it's quite a change from our life in budapest. we went from having virtually no plans ever to staying in our sixth place in seven weeks. crazy. i can't believe we moved out of our flat in budapest just eight weeks ago. it already seems like a distant past. :( we are however looking forward to settling into a house soon. we are on the hunt - the patient hunt.
to all of you who i owe an email to: i'm sorry. i can't stay on top of things. hopefully that will start to change. please email me again. :)
okay, that's it. hopefully no more really long posts like this. i have no idea how many typos are in this one. i don't want to reread again. :)
