the poor boys didn't get any candy, but their mouths sure were salivating!
we played with the plastic eggs a lot around the house and i kicked them and picked them up even more! they are now up in the closet for next year. reese thought matson wanted ALL of the eggs to eat. she was so proud!
call me a bad mother, but i didn't take any pictures of the kids on easter morning - even with their baskets! i really wish i would have b/c they looked so cute, but i figure i'll just recreate their outfits another time for church and take pics then.
on easter morning at church the kids get to "flower the cross", which is when the kids take up fresh flowers and put them on a cross on the stage during a hymn. (i say stage b/c we have worship in an auditorium type room.) i had told her about flowering the cross and she said she'd do it, but when it came time we didn't have a flower and i didn't know where they were and yada, yada, so i just let her watch the other kids go up to the front. the longer she watched the sadder her face got and the sadder i got! seriously, it was the first time i'd seen that look on her face. she looked as if she was totally left out and was so sad about it. SO, a lady who works in the children's ministry walked by and i asked her if she had any extra flowers and she came up with one. (i think she went and got one off the cross! ha!) so we took the flower and walked up onto the stage and reese got to put her red daisy on the cross. she was so proud and excited! and then during a prayer she spotted the big cross on the wall at the front and said, "mommy, there's the cross that the guys put jesus on." she's been learning. easter isn't just all about eggs and candy.
