first french braid

this is reese's first french braid and my first EVER successful french braid. can you believe that?! through all those years of dance and drill team i never learned how to french braid hair. i remember my junior and senior years of high school getting ready for the football game on fridays. mom, do you remember?! i know you do!! it was such a pleasant memorable experience right?! no. i have SO MUCH hair that we had to do all these weird things to get ALL my hair under my hat. first, i flipped my head upside down and my mom did a backwards french braid from my neck to a really high ponytail which she would then braid the ponytail and then wrap that into a bun. did you follow that?! it was obviously quite the ordeal to go through each friday and i was not the most pleasant teenager to work worth. i think i could call myself a big twit! sorry mom!!!

now that i'm older (and wiser!) i am enjoying playing with my daughter's hair. and, she at the age of two behaves MUCH BETTER than i did for my mom when i was 17! you might be wondering how i got reese to sit still long enough to play with her hair this long. cartoons. it works every time!

i can't believe her hair is so long! it looks super cute in a french braid. sometimes i do two french braids on isa - one on each side b/c she has a weird natural part that makes it easier to do that than the 1 by itself.

your poor mom - that does sound complicated. i don't think my mom has a clue how to do a french braid. i would do my own hair and my sister's for forever....
