school's out for summer

wow! how did this happen?! reese's first year of preschool is over. this may not seem like a big deal to some, but to me it's pretty significant for two reasons. one, it's the end of one little chapter in reese's life (i get emotional at stuff like this, what can i say?!) and two, summer is here and i'm all over the map emotionally about that idea.

i've now started a tradition of taking a picture on the first day of school

and on the last to show how much reese has grown over the past nine months. she's still as pretty and happy, just a little older and bigger.

i'm also secretly hoping you can tell my photography skills have improved. :)

okay, now that i've uploaded the pictures i really am getting emotional about this. i look at reese on that first day going into a new place to meet new people and learn new things with an adventurous and willing attitude. i mean, look at that smile and all her packed bags! she wasn't scared but excited about what was to come and she loved it all - her wonderful teacher, her new friends, the adventurous field trips, the other teachers and kids and all the fun activities she got to do, namely painting with all kinds of things like fly swatters, marshmallows, jalapenos and more! it was a great year! reesey boo, i'm so proud of you and i love you.

and now that summer is here i'm not sure what we will do. i'll have both kids with me all summer long and frankly that scares me! we have a few things planned, but need to keep busy. i am looking forward to creating fun memories this summer with my kiddos.
