we've been at the beach in outerbanks, north carolina, specifically the town of duck. we went for a family week with matt's dad's mom and brothers and sisters and cousins and...whoa, it was a lot of people! 32 of us in a 10 bedroom house on the beach. there was always something going on. if it wasn't catching a pelican on the beach or rescuing kids from the second sandbar or capturing escaped crabs in the kitchen, it was eating, relaxing on the beach with a beer during nap time, eating, watching the world cup, eating, riding bikes, eating or swimming in the pool. there was also deep sea fishing, kayaking, crabbing, concerts (for matt and his bros), massages for the ladies, wiffle ball and buried kids on the beach, movies in the theater room, a friendly game of catch phrase, outings for ice cream, and more i can't even think of at the moment! it was a trip we won't forget. we had a great time and have a nice tan to boot!
i took a million pictures. i'll post them in batches. for you camera people out there, i rented the nikon 24-70mm f2.8 lens for this trip. it's big and heavy, but i loved it and would love to own it! (too bad it's $1500+. i can't bring myself to shell out that kind of money on camera equipment - yet. :) i used it for all the outside beach shots and my 35mm f1.8 for most of the inside ones.
