memorial day weekend

we had a great memorial day weekend at my parents house. i took so many photos it's taken me a while to get through all of them. here are the highlights. warning: there are a lot.

when we pulled up in the driveway matt and i were cracking up. we were greeted by "maw and paw". paw was on the tractor offering matson a ride.
and, maw was in her apron cooking in the kitchen.
the kids had a great time at maw and paw's (aka: gram + papa's). they broke in the new downstairs guest bed.
we created their very own movie theater in a little nook next to the living room, complete with popcorn and all.
of course they rode their kismoto's on the helipad, but i didn't take pictures of that this time b/c i was so nervous about matson crashing. that little boy is a daredevil. he would get going super fast and then start shaking the handles and lose his balance. he only endured minor skinned knees once that day. he's required to wear a helmet.

matson warmed up to the idea of a tractor ride and both the kids climbed up on paw's lap. he even showed them how to raise and lower the front scooper thing.
saturday morning we went down to zilker park in austin with my parents and brother and family. we rode the little train and in very austin style the train slowed down for a little street performance.
the boy cousins all hot and sweaty.
look how cute these cousins are! eight pretty blue eyes.
it was so hot outside that day. we all drooled over barton springs 60 degree water. the kids were fascinated by the diving board and splashing. 60 degrees is quite chilly but i remember being pregnant with reese in the summer and submerging myself in that water and lovin' every minute of it. it was SO refreshing!
sunday we enjoyed more family time on my brother's new back patio. look at these beautiful girls. if i may, i'd like to call your attention to emersyn's little skirt. i made that for her. and, she looks so cute in it!!
brody is quite the little golfer. he has a tee to practice in the backyard.
matt took this opportunity for a father-son teaching moment.
this is what matson got out of the lesson. ha!
he decided he'd take the caddy job.
reese took a turn.
guess she missed the shot.
i love this photo of brody. look at his cute little face watching his ball fly. and, how about that form?!
these two were a little more interested in the sand.
thanks for all the fun times, guys!

we wear the titles maw & paw proudly! I don't think I've ever seen cuter grandchildren, ever.
