while he was away

while matt was away gram came to play. well, she was really more moral support for me, but she did do some playing - even IN the backyard playhouse.

matson charmed her with a flower and a kiss. she loved it.

and then she taught reese a knitting technique called finger knitting and reese knit her first bracelet.

friday morning we joined several families from reese's school at the HPD Mounted Police Unit to feed the police horses. it was a neat experience, i'd recommend doing it if you haven't yet. it's free and the kids love it.  and they have a brand new facility that's only a couple years old. it's really nice. see in the pics.

reesey looks a little scared here, but she really liked feeding the horses. matson wanted away from the horses, but was fascinated with them at the same time. 

we were told to bring apples cut in half, carrots and peppermints. did you know horses eat peppermints? that's a little bizarre to me.

this was the closest matson would get, making sure gram had hold of him. i kind of don't blame him though. the horses are BIG!

i think she couldn't believe she actually fed that giant thing!

gram was teaching reese how to hold her hand flat to feed the apple to the horse. matson's thinking "no way jose!"

she's thinking about it. and about how big that horse's mouth is.

she's getting silly about it.

and then gram does it. she looks a little unsure herself!
