downtown saturday

last saturday we had a family outing to the downtown library. we wanted to go to our newly renovated neighborhood library, but can you believe it's closed on saturdays?! we settled for the downtown library since none of us had been there. it was a fun time, but didn't last too long. at my kids age there's only so long they can be quiet and somewhat still. :) we left with 10 library books and have been reading them a lot this week.

we also had a surprise guest that morning - gram stopped in to read a couple of books on her way through houston. after that we got to eat lunch at one of matt's lunch spots he walks to from his office. and then we got to actually go to dad's office. probably better to bring them on a saturday when nobody's there than on a workday. he has a great view from his 18th floor office. we thought it was cool to see a rooftop swimming pool below us. the kids loved seeing their pictures and artwork in dad's office, but i think the highlight was the candy jar!

it was a really fun family saturday. i love those. it sorta felt like we were on vacation since we rarely go downtown - well i don't anyway. matt does five times a week!
