matt turned thirty-something

we celebrated dad/matt by taking him out to a light dinner at cafe express earlier this month. it was a gorgeous spring day so we opted to sit outside by the pretty fountain. the highlight out there was matson pulling a dead bird out of the fountain! seriously a dead bird! it was so gross and so unbelievable that it still makes me laugh.

next up we walked over to crave cupcakes for a little birthday treat.

the kids got more cupcake than we did and they opted to split theirs to have two kinds. i have smart kiddos.

matt's pretty easy to surprise and we got him with candles this time. it's a small thing, but as matt would say to me, it's the touch. i think he felt special. i hope he did because he is!
