Layla is 10.75 months old now. I keep telling her to slow down on the growing, but she's not listening to me. Thankfully she's doing some pretty cute new things!
The newest big thing is that she's communicating with us!
I don't know what it is about my parents, but they always seem to stimulate my children. My babies start showing off new moves and words for them. It's so fun! Over the Thanksgiving holidays Layla started signing "more" and "all finished" and clapping. She also started saying "nigh, nigh" and held her hand to her face.
One moment that particularly impressed me...Layla was in the stroller and she spotted me with the snack container in my hand. She looked up at me, then down at the container and up at me again, and then she signed "more"! I was floored!
Did you notice anything missing from the picture above? Well this dingbat mother forgot to include Cordiroy the giraffe who has been there every month! It's so hard getting this shot of her b/c she doesn't stay still (hence the lotion tube to occupy her) that I never even thought about the giraffe. Plus, I was about a week behind that I was just focused on getting the picture.
I really have to watch her these days because she puts everything in her mouth, most of it being earth elements that the big kids drag in. Rocks from the playground at Matson's school is a big one.
I see walking in the her near future. She's getting brave and stands on her own for a few seconds before she steadily lowers her hands to the ground.
She's into everything. The big kids are good at helping me pick up everything she takes out. If it's their toys she takes out they get to put it up. I mostly do the kitchen stuff she pulls out, but they help out so much.
Matson served as my distraction to help Layla sit still for just a second. The photo shoot wouldn't have been complete without a shot of them together. He loves her so much and makes her laugh like no one else.
