reese and i had lunch at whole foods today with a couple of friends/ ex-coworkers, sol & emily. it was my first time to go into whole foods, if you can believe that! i treated sol to lunch b/c she was so sweet to babysit reese for me yesterday while i endured a long 2.5 hour appt at the dentist. thank you, sol! (tangent: i had never really hated the dentist even though i've had tons of work done on my teeth in my life until a couple of years ago when i had a root canal done. that was M-I-S-E-R-A-B-L-E! i hope i never have to get one of those again. i'll take a crown over a root canal any day, which is what i had done yesterday. okay, enough about my boring teeth. that's kind of gross.) back on track: one of my favorite pieces of baby equipment is the booster seat. it's great! it fits in one of our regular chairs at home which is nice b/c we have limited space in our apartment. it has 2 trays so if one is dirty you can just use the other one. (nice for lazy parents. :)) it's also really handy to take with us when going out to eat. the tray is the key. the highchairs at resturants don't have trays and i can't really feed reese off of the table yet. the highchairs don't seem high enough for that. the one falty thing about it is the top tray doesn't snap on in the front, so reese has figured out that if she grabs the front of the tray and pulls up she can pop the top off. not fun. food goes everywhere. she tried it for a couple of meals, but i sat there telling her no every 5 seconds and she hasn't really done it anymore. anyway, here is reese at lunch today...
our new game: reese has figured out the "drop" game. maybe this game has another name, but you'll understand when i explain. when we are at the grocery store or target or where ever, i let her hold some things so she has something to do. i mean, she sees me picking up stuff of the shelf, so it's only natural for her to want to hold something too. well, today she thought it was funny to start dropping the stuff over the side of the cart. i picked the stuff up a couple of times and then took it away. she didn't care that i took them away, but she did care when i took her bottle away at lunch after she'd thrown it on the floor a few times. hopefully she'll get tired of this game soon!

Hmm....sorry to tell you this, but the game never really gets old for them :) At least it hasn't with Lilly yet. She may forget about it for awhile, but always remembers.
I cannot believe you had NEVER been to Whole Foods! Then again, you do live right by Central Market. ;)
