a few pics from our first real sightseeing outing.... we went to castle hill, the place that every visitor makes sure to see. it's on the buda side above the danube river. we didn't venture in any buildings or museums this time, instead we walked around and checked out the beautiful views of pest.
széchenyi lánchíd (széchenyi chain bridge) this is the most famous bridge in budapest, connecting buda to pest. we took the fun route over to buda by walking across this bridge. we got a feel for how big the river really is! it flows very fast too.

lunch in front of the royal palace, now two museums. this is where we ordered grilled cheeses for reese, not realizing grilled cheeses doesn't mean a grilled cheese sandwich, but grilled blocks of cheeses. ha! we got a good laugh out of this.

2 really huge doors.

the buda castle (make sure to enlarge this one to really see it.)
i love this shot. szent istván-bazilika (st stephen's basilica) in the upper left corner and the széchenyi lánchíd crossing the danube river. we looked at an apartment literally within spitting distance of the
szent istván-bazilika. it's a little pricey, so i'm not sure we will rent that one.

dude, just got to Budapest on Friday- wanted to get in touch but had no internet...in Debrecen now until Friday. Saw the sunrise from Gillert Hill this morning (running). Also Cafe Core near St Stephens in Pest was great (had the gulash). Ping me.
...correction: Cafe Kor.
great pictures, and the weather looks fabulous. do you know how to pronounce those words in hungarian? i know that they don't sound anything like they look, and they look pretty strange to these english-only speaking american eyes.
the weather HAS been fabulous. a thin long sleeve can get warm in the sun, but it's a little cool in the shade. it's awesome! only thing is if you are hot, you can't go inside and get cooled off by the a/c because there is none.
we are working the pronunciation, so the answer is no, we can't pronounce them.
richard, please call us when you get in town! you have our numbers.
this is just gorgeous! also, being that grilled cheese is one of my favorite things to eat i love that it's literally grilled cheese over there. that's just too funny.
