whirl wind trip

we had a whirl wind trip to pittsburgh last weekend to see matt's family one more time before we leave. we had a great visit with everyone and are so glad we went up there during this busy time. it was a great break from the move "to do list" that doesn't seem to be getting shorter! anyway, the weather was perfect, the conversations were flowing, all the food was delicious and the girls were super cute! it was pretty tough to get a picture of reese and autumn together looking at the camera, so i'll show you the three cutest pictures of the weekend...

tip toes! we spent a lot of time, morning, day + night, sitting out on miles + katie's front porch. we had to set up a barricade so the girls wouldn't try to go down the steps on their own. thankfully the girls have a great grandpa that took them for walks down the street. they loved it!

here reese is practicing her walking by pushing autumn around in the stroller. i think the goal was to get autumn to fall asleep, which she did for a little while. reese took her nap in her cool tent up on the side of the hill. it was fabulous!

after a day at the park the girls needed a bath! they weren't as into it as i thought they might be, but they had a good time splashing around.

we had a family picnic on sunday afternoon where almost all of the family came out. aside from the delicious food and awesome location of the pavilion we rented (on the side of a hill with 8-10 picnic tables, lots of running around room and a park with swings and jungle gyms below us), the best part was the water balloon fight! we had all the uncles and male cousins over age 15 posed for a picture on the hill and then the younger cousins launched water balloons at them just as they were cutting up about being old. it was hysterical!

they had no idea what was comin'!
