it's snowed already!

we had our first snow of the season yesterday! it snowed all day long, but in the city it was too warm for anything to stick. it made for quite the trek home from church! thankfully we were prepared for rain/snow! we have a really slick rain cover for the stroller so reese doesn’t get wet. i had an umbrella and matt had a hood. i think my next purchase will be some cute rain boots. i see people wearing them and i think they would be perfect for all the walking outside we do! side note: have I mentioned how we get to church? walk to the tram, take the tram to the metro, take the metro to the bus, take the bus across the river, walk up a hill 2 blocks to church! it’s a haul! it takes about 30 minutes, but maybe less if you catch everything form of transportation right on time. thankfully church doesn’t start until 10:30! :)

we say she's "snug as a bug in a rug" in there! i don't think there has been a sunday yet where reese hasn't taken a nap on the way home from church. the nursery wears her out!

we had a really low key weekend running errands on saturday and then sunday we stayed inside playing around the house while it snowed outside. our latest fun thing is a dvd player! now we can rent movies and watch them on the tv! did you know hungarian dvds won't play in american dvd players? it's true. there are different regions around the world with different dvds. we knew this before we left so we didn't bring our dvd player. we just play our american dvds on our computer. anyway, we found a great little movie place with movies where you can chose which language you want. all the american movies come in angol (english), so we have a decent selection. matt and i enjoyed chillin’ out friday and saturday night watching movies in english. :) i have found a few channels on our tv with some fun shows, but for the most part the only things we watch are cartoons in german, the travel channel, world news (not much on the usa), and sports. matt is lovin’ all the european football! speaking of football, american football that is...

we miss texas football! we are still cheering in budapest though!

our latest issue is our water heater is out! brrrrr! this is not good when the water heater not only heats the bath water, but also the radiators! it’s been a chilly 64 in here today while it's in the 30s outside with a windchill of 26! it’s taking a little getting used to for the texas folk. :) but not to worry, out landlord brought over two heaters, so we are all warming up. unfortunately the heaters are only for the air and not the water, so we will have to deal with no hot water until at least wednesday evening. :( we'll keep you posted!

p.s. there is a hint of a possibility that we will get the internet hooked up on wednesday! we are trying not to get our hopes up too much b/c we've been let down by this so many times. as much as i want the internet at home, i have to say it's been really nice not having it. i've had to be creative with my time. :) i'm going to try to be more disciplined to not be online too much when we get it. we'll see how that goes.
