yum! one of the good things about living in hungary is all the tasty desserts. the hungarian desserts are not as sweet as the desserts in the usa, which is something we've come to really like. maybe that's how the hungarians eat a dessert every afternoon and stay skinny - less sugar. we asked the couple in line behind us which desserts they liked, so we went with their recommendations - one chocolate and one vanilla-ish, neither of which are in the picture. they were very light and fluffy. mmmmmm!
this is the scene at the local cukrászda (translation: confectioner's shop or candy store). this place is always packed! every time i walk past there is always a line, so we thought this would be a great place to get some hungarian desserts to treat to our american visitors (see previous post). it might just be our new favorite cukrászda!
of course we couldn't leave with only two little desserts. we had to get an assortment of little cookies too. :) the cookies are on the bottom two rows. the top row and maybe some on the second are savory snacks that are also DE-licious. :)
