not so little anymore

our cutie reese is not so little anymore. with her second birthday coming in just two weeks, i'm realizing she's only going to get bigger and wiser! the most common phrase we hear from her is "reese do it!" she is all about the independence these days. most of the time it's fine to let her "do it", but sometimes i don't have the patience or the time. she's really taken to drinking from a cup, so we bought her some cute bright colored cups, of which she picked to drink out of the orange one first.

i really think she is sensing something is going on. as i said in the last post she's been a bit clingy. she wants mommy to do everything with her. i really have to coax her into "letting" daddy change her poopie diapers. ha! but seriously, we've been talking about the baby with her a little more lately and i just wonder what's going on in her head. she's always intrigued by other little babies and wants to see and touch them. she really loved looking at her tiny baby pictures this morning and pointed out "reesey boo" in each picture. it's too cute when she says her nickname!

even though i'm sad that my time with reese as my only little girl is coming to an end, i'm excited to see her with the new baby. i think she is going to be so interested in what's going on and i know she'll be quite the little helper. she already is a good helper, so hopefully that will continue.

another way i know she is growing up is that the once content, relaxed baby i had is no longer. she is a busy bee these days! she wants to be on the go all the time! especially when there are other children around. on vacation we'd let her run wild in the town squares and most of the time there were other parents doing the same thing, so she'd find friends and they'd run crazy together! if the other children didn't follow her, she'd turn around, wave her hand and say "come. boy, come!" or "come. girl, come!" it was too funny! she also wants to be right in the action if food is involved. yesterday i was getting matt a snack after work and since she'd already had a snack i told her she couldn't have any. well, she disregarded that, turned to dad and said, "let me see. up!" we just cracked up! after how cute that was, she got a cracker. :)

but no matter how big she gets, she'll still always by my baby girl.
