my first three days all by myself with two children weren't too bad. i was a little scared that i would be really tired all day long, but surprisingly, i wasn't. we stayed around the flat most of the time only getting to the park on friday morning. my excuse for staying around the flat was the rain. ...if you know me at all, that's always my excuse! rain? nope sorry, can't come. :) but seriously, i had a really successful first day. i had talked to jane, our pastor's wife, the night before and she said that when her mom left after helping with her children back in the day, she would go on a cleaning frenzy to let out her emotions. i thought that was a little odd until the next day when my mom left and i went on an organizing frenzy! so many things were not in their spots that i spent most of my free time picking stuff up and putting it away. i felt so accomplished at the end of the day, it was awesome! you could have called me super mom! :) i also spent a lot of time with reese. we were both in need of mommy+reese time. we played in her room a lot, had birthday parties with her wooden cake, colored, read books, played with play-doh, etc. during that time i gave her a million kisses and hugs! she's such a sweet girl.
my new daily goal is to get both children down for a nap a the same time. it seems like a hard goal, but i managed to reach it all three days last week! it was great! i got to get a refreshing nap too - something this mamma needs! i hate to see myself the day i don't get at least a thirty minute nap. scary! now it's the weekend and my dear sweet husband is home to help manage our new life with two kids. i don't think it's really sunk in that we have kids. not kid, but kidS. :)

I knew you could do it. Keep up the good work and enjoy the ride!
you sounded so relaxed when i talked to you at the end of last week. i told your mom that i was really impressed . . . i'd be a total mess i'm sure!
