stop, drop and roll

reese's preschool class has been learning fire safety at school, so what would be more fitting than a field trip to the fire station?! this is reese's small, cute class.

she thought it was pretty cool that the tire on the truck was the same size as her!


the kids got to climb through the back seat and then sit in the driver's seat (which reese opted out of).
it was neat to see one of the firefighters put on the whole 80 lb suit. it showed the kids what a firefighter would look and sound like if there was ever a fire. the darth vader breathing is a bit intimidating! and, did you know their voice comes out on a speaker when they have the suit on? i didn't, but it makes sense if they are breathing from an oxygen tank.and then the firefighters let the kids (and moms - me!) spray the fire hose! the look on the kids faces was priceless! they ate. it. up!

i asked some of the kids if they knew the color of the reflector in the street that indicates where there is a fire hydrant and they knew. do you know?
