giddyup!

reese and i were on tv! a couple of people at church this morning told me they saw reese and me on the news on friday night. from what they told me i think it was while we were taking this picture. i had no idea there was a camera filming!
i looked on the news channels website for the clip, but couldn't find it. i've emailed the station to see if i can get it. i'll post it if i get it. it makes me giggle though b/c i had no idea and then we were on tv!



my little city slicker cowgirl loved sitting on the horses.
matson was pretty cautious at first not wanting to have anything to do with these large mammals. he kept his distance from their rather large heads, but i let him pet the side of one so he couldn't see the head. he liked that and even sat on one, but just for the photo op.
after the first petting went well he decided to go straight for the horses nose!


there were a few different groups of trail riders that stopped at this location for us to meet. the two that i talked to had been on the trail for 7 days and traveled the 90-mile salt grass trail ride from cat springs, tx and the 112-mile spanish trail ride from shepherd, tx. now those are some real cowboys and cowgirls!

the kids thought sitting in the carriage was pretty cool too, except the one girl on the right.
i think this is such a neat way to teach reese and matson more about texas and what the rest of the world thinks of when they hear texas - cowboys and horses! giddyup!!
