thanksgiving

the two words that come to mind when i think about thanksgiving this year are RELAXING and FUN. we headed up to my parents new rental house on wednesday and enjoyed great company, good food, lots of pie, pleasant walks,  sleeping in (the kids didn't wake us up until 8:45 one day!), watching football (including the great texas game!) and even a little christmas festivities in there.

 "i'm strong." is one of matson's current phrases.  

gram and papa's new neighborhood has some great walking trails so that's where we are here.

i think this shot is my favorite one from thanksgiving. it just sorta happened and i just happened to catch it. i love it when that happens.

these cousins are so great together. matson thinks brody hung the moon and reese loves taking care of emersyn.

 somehow reesey lost a shoe and had to come back about 30 yards for it. 

i really don't know if she realized she'd lost it. kids are so funny.

 these kids at heart had a rock throwing contest.

the goal was to get the biggest one you could carry. 

 we then went to the top of the bridge and "bombs away!"
(that's my puny rock there on the ledge. i already have a boulder to carry in my belly!)

we ended thanksgiving day watching the big rivalry game - texas and texas a&m. it was a nerve wracking game, but texas pulled it out in the last seconds!  the cousins got to stay up late, snuggle up together and watch tom & jerry. as gram said, "this is what being cousins is all about."
