big brother & double big sister

reese and matson are absolutely smitten with miss layla and love their new roles as big brother and double big sister. 

this was matson's first time to hold layla and he wanted his picture taken. of course i jumped up and got the camera, and then reese wanted in the picture too - even better!! all three kiddos! 

i think layla was doing her grunting in this one so the kids were a little concerned.

look at reese multi-tasking! and i love how they have included layla in their playing already.

when it comes to layla, reese and matson are both very interested in what is going on with her and want to help. they don't seem to be bothered when we can't play with them b/c we need to do something with the baby. both reese and matson do a great job at washing their hands any time we ask them. well, matson occasionally protests, but he knows the rule that to hold the baby you must wash your hands so he decides when he's ready and goes to wash up. they are both very helpful when i'm nursing and need some help getting a burp cloth or my phone or water. they love giving her kisses, singing her songs, reading her books and matson has even started teaching her to clap. :) it's pretty much the most precious thing i've ever seen!
