memorial day weekend part deux

the other big thing about the weekend was that it was mine and matt's first time to spend the night away from reese. we left her in great care with my parents for a couple of days. she had a great time playing with her cousin brody, aunt jessica & uncle erik, watching the fish in the pond, going to church with gram & papa, and just having some new faces and stuff to look at. the report was that reese did very well with mom & dad being gone. here is the look on her face when we walked in the door...

other pics from the weekend... reese giving brody a "kiss". she hasn't quite learned that yet, but gram told us that when she asked reese to give brody a kiss, she leaned over and put her head next to his. so sweet, but the look on brody's face shows he didn't like it too much. ha!
sitting in the little rocking chair with new toy...a squeezable lightbulb.
the lightbulb goes to bed with her... what a sleeping position!

reese added a new sign to her sign language. when gram asked her if she wanted to take a nap, she put her hand up to her cheek! we have done the bedtime sign to her before that is similar to that, but not consistantly and not for a long time, so i'm surprised she did that! and i was doubly surprised she did it for me today! both times she did that sign she must have been really tired b/c she took a 3 hour nap!

glad to see that the nap sign wasn't a fluke since she did it for you, too.

she signed "bed" again today and actually said, "nigh-nigh" too! funny thing is that matt and i were doing the sign wrong and she is doing it the correct way. our signing book tells says this: "Rest the right cheek agains the palm of the right Open B hand and tilt the head slightly toward the hand. Memory aid: Picture laying your head against a pillow. Tip: Signers can also use this sign for night-night, nap, and sleep."
