the bug is still alive

i couldn't post again without a picture. this is the cute, happy face we are used to seeing. although she's still cute, she just has more of a sad puppy dog face right now.

the bug is still alive at our home. last night we had a second round of sickness we reese. :( round two started just after her nap and then again between midnight and 2:00 a.m. i should have known a little something more was up because she wasn't hungry or thirsty for lunch and then slept way longer than normal. but she had a good amount of energy to play, so i don't know. let's just say i'm a new mom and am learning a lot! i talked to the doctor this morning and she said reese should now be over the worst of it, so we are trying things at home to avoid the hospital again. we'll see. we are taking things very slow. she's getting about a teaspoon of juice+water every five minutes. it's a bit torturous for her, but i'm letting her dip her spoon in the drink and get some that way. it seems to satisfy her even though she's only getting a tiny amount of liquid. we also set the timer for five minutes and make a big deal when it goes off. it's a bit hard to wait, but she's doing pretty good at it. probably because her thirst is being quenched. as for me and matt...we are eating rice, toast and banana. i see soup and yogurt in our future too. ...not to exciting.

bear is reese's favorite sleeping comfort. we don't take him everywhere we go, but when we do, we make double sure we have him when we leave. after hearing the story many times over the years about my brother losing his favorite dog, brownie, i knew i'd better have a back up. i had my mom + dad bring another bear when they visited in december. the new bear was obviously not reese's bear and he was a much lighter brown, so i was a bit worried if we'd ever have to pull him out. would she go for it? would she just cry for the other bear? the test happened last night. we escaped one episode without getting bear dirty, but then she got him. :( and we had just given him to her! darn it! i decided it was time for the new bear to make his appearance. she took right to him and slept with him the rest of the night and is now napping with him! yea! it worked! i really couldn't believe it. i wish i had a picture of bear. i tried getting one of her holding him the other day, but she just went for the camera. i'll get one soon.

and just for the record, when reese has been really sick, momma has won out over bear. momma's arms were the only way to soothe her. my pleasure, my sweet pea.
