some day-to-day stuff

this post is intended to catch you up on the smaller day-to-day things we've been up to.



first, matt + i went out on a double date last friday with another couple and it was so fun! we had a sitter come stay with reese which was a big deal b/c it's the first time we've done that here. i had to get to a comfort level of leaving reese with someone we barely new in a different place and then i had to find that someone to leave her with. after the search i now have several people to choose from, so i think matt + i will be going on dates more often! it was so fun to be out late at night! we went with our friends jared+kelli, who live around the corner, to a good italian restaurant and then to see U2 3D. we saw the concert on an imax screen and it was so cool! since we had been to the U2 concert in houston (and loved it!), it was really cool to see it from a whole different vantage point. i really felt like i was on stage with them! sometimes i felt like i was in the mosh pit with the crowd and at several points i felt like i could reach out and touch bono! crazy!



by the way, reese did great with the babysitter and she was truly spoiled by her.



every tuesday morning, or at least most tuesday mornings, reese + i meet our friends kelli + scarlett (almost one) at the corner of our street and head up to playgroup together. it's so much more fun to have friends to make the trek with rather than going by ourselves. i really appreciate the help with getting on and off the bus since it's getting a lot more difficult for me to pick up the stroller. when i'm by myself people usually ask me if they can help me and i graciously take them up on their offer! i've also gotten to the point where i'll ask for help if no one offers.



today reese stayed with another babysitter while i went with a couple of friends to a warehouse about 30 minutes from here to see some antique furniture, chests, wine bottles, etc. it was fun! i made one purchase, but need to talk to matt before i make a bigger purchase. :) reese had a great time with the babysitter. each time i ask her if she enjoyed her time with luca, she says "kids!" luca took her to the park for a long time, so i think she's a keeper in reese's book. :) she also took a great two hour nap, so that also tells me she had fun. after nap we walked around the corner to a cafe for some gelato. yum! i love the cafes everywhere too!




can't post and not have a pic... like father, like daughter. they are watching tv. ha!
