croatia :: trogir

next up: trogir. we had yet another early morning wake up to catch the 7:30 a.m. ferry to split. from split we took a taxi ride out to trogir where we spent only one day and one night. we basically stayed here to get close to the airport because we had another early flight out. we explored trogir a little bit seeing the venetian cathedral of st. lovro, the ferry terminal, kamerlengo fortress. we actually stayed on the island of ciovo, so we had to walk across a small bridge to get to the small island of trogir. in the afternoon we took naps in the courtyard of our cute hotel. very relaxing.

we would love something like this in our backyard

the last day of our trip was super long. we got up around 6:00 to catch a 7:30 flight from split to zagreb. we arrived at 8:30 a.m. and our train wasn't leaving until 3:00 that afternoon. being 35 weeks pregnant i was very tired and sleepy. i spotted some people sleeping in chairs at the airport, so i asked matt if i could join them. he graciously said yes and followed reese around the airport for the next two hours. they explored everything even finding a little playground outside. after my refreshing nap we headed to the train station. we decided to lock up our bags at the train station and explore a little bit. we bought delicious strawberries from the market and then found a place to sit outside for lunch. we spent the rest of the afternoon lounging in a park near the train station. matt and i took turns napping and running around with reese. finally it was time for our train to depart around 3:30. the seven hour train ride back to budapest was really long. we were all just ready to be home. despite our really long travel day home, i'd do it all over again. croatia is beautiful!
