abracadabra, alacazam...

poof! the magic swaddle had disappeared! turns out little matson sleeps a ton better without the swaddle. he would fight and grunt so hard to get out of that thing. poor thing, i kept him bound up so he couldn't move and therefore he would keep me up at night - fair trade off, i guess. he showed me! :) we're going to do a test run tonight and see if he sleeps better without it. it's worked all day today, so hopefully he won't be awake for two hours tonight like he was last night. he's going to sleep in his bedroom for the first time tonight. as much as i've loved having him right next to me, i think it's time he become a big boy and go to his room. he lasted a lot longer in our room than reese did. i can't remember exactly when we moved her out, but i'm thinking she was more like a week old or something. we've also popped the pacifier in his mouth and he's taken to that to help fall asleep. we're slowly, but surely figuring out our little man.

Isn't that funny?!? Our kiddos were just the same. Lilly HAD to be swaddled and Ty did better without it! I can tell you that it has been sooooooo much better not to have to worry about the swaddling! Especially since it's so darn hot here. Good call, mom!

thanks for the encouragement, friends. we chickened out last night and didn't put matson in his room. we still tried the no swaddle thing and it worked very well. he slept great and went right back to sleep after he ate. he also went 3 1/2 hours between feedings. that's pretty good.

teri, that's funny our children are the same. it gives me hope that i might have another laid back child. we'll see. i have predicted him to be an early crawler, walker, etc.

Hmmm...why do you think he'll be an early crawler/walker?
I had Lilly in her own room on the second night home....
but Ty stayed in our room for about 6 weeks!--he was such a quiet sleeper though. When I did move him, I missed him so much that I spent several nights in his room with him :)
