nyár a lánchídon

reese got an ice cream while i fed matson in the shade.

for our saturday afternoon outing we went down to the széchenyi lánchíd (széchenyi chain bridge) to check out the nyár a lánchídon (summer on the chain bridge). each summer the chain bridge (completed in 1849) is closed down to traffic on the weekends for a small festival. each end of the bridge has a stage set up with different genres of music each weekend. this weekend we enjoyed some jazz music on the buda side of the bridge at clark adam ter. we walked across the bridge, checked out the line of booths, watched the peoples, and then strolled back.

matson enjoyed the stroll too.

an afternoon complete with kisses from dad!

actually, i wasn't all that impressed with the booths at this festival. the winter and spring festivals were much better. i was prepared to buy some stuff, but ended up not getting anything. :( i enjoyed listening to the music and people watching more than the booths.

i'm sure there will be another one soon. hungarians love festivals!

Reese's face in that third photograph is absolutely amazing. That look in her eyes is compellingly enigmatic. Great shot!

I think you have a real aptitude for photos. Maybe once the little ones are a bit bigger you can look to being a pro photographer? The site here shows you have a very special eye for composition.

I love that about kids, they could have that far–off look because they're wondering if reality could be a dream or if they're watching a bird intently or because they're wondering if Mondays always come after Sundays. One doesn't know what connections are fusing in their burgeoning neuro–synaptic core.
