her first day

this will sound horrible to those of you who do not have kids and wonderful to those of you who do have kids...reese started her first day of mother's day out on friday and i loved it! one morning a week free of my strong willed sweet little reesey boo. wonderful! when we went to visit the little "school" she was all about the classroom and toys, the playground and the gym with scooters. well, the morning it was time to go for the first time all i heard was "i don't want to. i don't want to go. i don't want to eat that. i don't want to put on my shoes. i don't want to...

take a picture." i took it anyway to keep the memory.

she was however pretty excited about taking her lunch to eat with the other kids. i filled her new lunchbox with stuff she likes...pb+j, strawberries, carrots, and goldfish with oj to drink.

once we got to the school EARLY :) she went right into the classroom, hung up her bag on her new hook, put her lunch box on the shelf, checked out the other kids and started playing. she didn't even look back, not even for a good-bye to mommy and matson. i managed to snap this pic...

and then matson and i left.

when we went to pick her up she looked bored to tears just sitting there waiting for me. all the other kids were laying on their mats for nap time. her face lit up when she saw me! she had a ball and her teacher, ms. samantha, said she did great! she was pretty proud of the bear puppet she made out of a white paper bag. i think this week she'll be a little more excited when she wakes up on friday morning.

Wow - I am not a mom but I think Mommy's Day Out sounds GREAT and not at all horrible, bad or negative. Everyone needs a break sometimes - and if you don't take care of yourself you won't be taking good care of the kiddos.

Kudos - from a non-mommy.
