pittsburgh fun

we really enjoyed the unexpected vacation at home when our trip to pittsburgh was delayed a few days. matt played worked in the yard, i cleaned, we worked through more boxes, etc. home feels a little more like home now.

as always we had a great time in pittsburgh with all the dowiaks. miles, katie and autumn, thank you for letting us invade your house for five nights! i thought reese and autumn had a great time playing together. sure they had their moments (they ARE two), but overall they shared and got along very well.

for me the days were fine, but the nights were hard. i don't know what we were thinking putting two two-year-olds to bed at the same time in the same room! needless to say that didn't work out well. reese and autumn pulled out all kinds of books and toys with no intention of going to sleep. katie finally separated them. we'll save that idea for when they are a bit older. the next four nights all four of us (matt, reese, matson and i) slept in the same room. thankfully reese and matson are used to each other, so it was just me and matt working on the change. matson woke up some during the nights, so to avoid waking up the whole house i either put him in bed with me (which goes against everything i believe! but worth the sacrifice at this time.) or matt slept with him downstairs.

we took the girls to the children's museum on a rainy day. autumn had fun showing reese all the neat things and reese loved checking everything out. after we got home and i asked reese if she wanted to paint she kept saying "on the wall". it took me a while to realize she meant on the easel. i'm thinking about an easel for her birthday. shhhh, don't tell her. :)

matson had fun in the baby area.

the kids played so well together, mainly meaning reese and autumn.

matt got to do some manly work on miles' backyard with his bros. how do males bond over stuff like this?! they don't even talk to each other!

a proud father moment teaching his son to play soccer. matson loves when we swing him to kick the ball!

the girls love ice cream!

get it ALL!

she did. and, she's happy.

the whole reason we went to pgh this week was to attend megan and anthony's wedding. it was beautiful, they were gorgeous and the party rocked. :)

momma and matson all dressed up.

these two make a good pair. poppy loved taking matson around to meet all the family.

reese and autumn were the best dancers of all!

this picture is just precious. reese and autumn gathered some second cousins (or whatever they are considered to reese and autumn. carly and sage are matt's cousins) for some dancing too.

and even matson got in on a dance with poppy and grandma!

last but certainly not least, bocci! (that's grandmother in polish. not sure on the spelling though.) bocci is reese and matson's great grandmother (matt's dad's mom). she tells us all kinds of stories and family history. we love spending time with her and she enjoys the little ones.

bye bye, pittsburgh! thanks for a good time everyone! until next time...

If Carly and Sage are Matt's first cousins, they would be Autumn and Reese's first cousins once removed.
I'm from Mississippi.

thanks for the clarification, sarah. that's always confusing.
