the weekend

hello. i hope this finds you well and refreshed from your weekend. i feel like ours went too fast! friday night reese had her first "movie night". this is what she picked.

are vhs tapes considered vintage yet? because they sure feel like it. grandma gave us a few old vhs tapes. i'm glad i decided not to get rid of the tape player when i was recently making lots of runs to goodwill. it's a hoot to operate and watch old tapes - total old school. reese loves working that machine just like the dvd player.

saturday morning we worked in some water fun! the kids and i introduced dad to the toddler waterpark. he thought it was the coolest place. it gave him the same excitement for schlitterbahn as it did me. it was a little different scene on saturday morning than when we've been before. lots more dads, which i love to see! dad's playing with their kids is priceless.

weeeeeeee! i love the slides, probably more than the kids, but i make them go with me. matson wasn't so interested in the slide, but we did it with him anyway. he liked crawling around in the water more. he's no scaredy cat when it comes to water. he doesn't care that if it's getting deeper and deeper and... gotta watch him.

in case you are wondering, which you probably are NOT, but reese does have another swimsuit. she won't wear it. not sure why, but i don't push it. that's not a battle i choose to take on, so she will just be rainbow girl this summer.
saturday afternoon wasn't so much fun. reese got sick (if you know what i mean), so she laid around watching cartoons. matson didn't sleep well either, so he was just cranky. SO, matt and i left them with the babysitter! ha! i know that sounds horrible, but reese didn't get sick again and they both slept well that evening, so it was good that we didn't cancel our plans. we enjoyed an adult evening at a friend's house.



sunday morning we pulled these weeds. i'm amazed at how fast they grow!

and reese played with chalk. i say these are her blue chalk hands to match her pretty blue eyes and pjs.
matt got to go to church. i kept reese and matson home to keep the other kids from possibly getting sick. it IS vbs week for us. more on that coming soon.
