genuine fun

i cherish the time i get alone with just my precious little girl. we call those times dates and we've had some fun, sweet dates this week while matson was at mdo. we played at the mall arcade and play castle, went out to lunch, shopped, explored the butterfly museum and rode the carousel a couple of times.

these pictures of reese make me smile. i see my little girl having genuine fun.
i let her spin in the tea cup by herself. i would have thrown up! it's hard enough to just ride the carousel, much less spinning into an oblivion. she sure enjoyed it!
the arcade is a tricky place for a four year old. she wants to play everything, but doesn't quite get the games, so i don't want to waste money on it. we have many years for that in the future. we found a few more age appropriate games and played for a little while.

even though this photo came out blurry, there's something about it i just love. i can still make out reese's ecstatic and proud expression about playing skee ball and the colors are just cool looking.

and then, here's a little butterfly i got to hold. it was really neat. reese thought so too, but not enough to hold it.
