summer time at gram and papa's

the kids and i recently went to my parents house for a few days leaving matt to bachelorhood at home. i have a ton of pictures and believe it or not i narrowed it down to these...

we got to go swimming in my brother's neighborhood pool that has a cool beach entry. the whole fam was there (except bachelor matt)...brody, emersyn, aunt jessica, uncle e, gram, papa and mimi (jessica's mom).

 

reese tried to sneak out of a pic with her cousin brody, but i got her!

my aunt marsha gave the kids a ring toss game and we've been playing a lot. everyone got to participate that night and found it to be a little harder than it looks. it was funny having to tame matson down who was slinging the ropes (not sure what to call them) across the room like a discus. he figured it out.

 

the kids both got haircuts.matson's pretty blue eyes are now visible. yea!

reese got four inches cut off. it's cute and is much easier to brush through.

 

this is a look that matson gives a lot, mostly when he's just done something super cute.

the kids first dinosaurs...a gift from gram. 

we ate at chick-fil-a for lunch two days in a row. the second day we spiced it up with ice cream cones.

 

of course we spent more time outside playing in the water b/c that's what we do in texas during the summer.

this little guy caught my eye, so i snapped his picture. 

i don't even know what it is, but i love this picture with the fabulous bokeh in the background! :)

you'd be surprised how much fun the kids had with 

a plastic spoon (from gram's homemade snow cones!) and a sprinkler. loads of entertainment!

we couldn't leave gram and papa's without a ride on the helipad.

 they ventured into the front yard. not sure what caught their attention. 

my parents house is really so pretty. maybe next time we are there i'll get pics.

i found a good spot in the front shrubs for a little photo opp, 

but then realized the kids had on these giant helmets. i still got some sweet photos

i wish i knew what this cute cat's name is. he wandered over from the neighbor's yard and let us play with him.

or scare him.

can't wait to go back to gram and papa's soon!
