a fun and gorgeous day

the saturday after thanksgiving was the most gorgeous day of the year, high of like 60 and sunny, and i wasn't about to brave the shops so we went to hermann park, a family favorite. it brought about lots of fun and pictures.
the kids LOVE to bring their kismotos here.
reese loves to hear us tell her she was born in the hospital with the red roof in the background buildings of this picture.

they must have ridden down this ramp 20+ times. no spills either.

matson REALLY wanted to ride the train, so we did. we even let the kids sit on their own seat and matt and i rode behind them. it was a nice long relaxing ride.
matson loved waving to everyone and yelling "choo-choo!" when the horn blew.
poppy and grandma showed up to play for a while and then they took us out for some goode company bbq - another family favorite, and a requirement when poppy comes to town. i must mention here that the line at goode's was really long, the longest i've ever seen it, and it was way past our lunchtime when we got there, but the kids behaved wonderfully!! i really could not believe it. i hope to remember that every time we are in a line of some kind and the kids are going stir crazy.
the kismotos always get a lot of attention at parks b/c they are so cool and unique. reese let this little girl test it out. matson wasn't so keen on sharing his.

i love this family pic. thanks for playing photographer, poppy.
and then last but not least, i somehow managed to capture matt kicking a squirrel away. (don't worry, he didn't really kick it.)

I want to know about these Kismotos...and how you keep the boy so clean while he paints! I'm not willing to brave that one yet.

well, the kismotos came from hungary, but i know you can get them here now (online i think, not in the stores). i believe they run about $50 in the states. ours were a steel at $15 or $20 in budapest. :) but even at $50 i think it would be money well spent! our kids LOVE them - even reese still at 4 1/2. she started on it at only 20 months old riding around our apartment.
