5 months

Before Miss L turns 6 months old, I need to document her at 5 months.

Layla continues to bring smiles to us all. I told Matt the other day that all I have to do is make a little noise and smile at her and she will beam a gummy smile right back at me. She also has this low grunt/laugh sound she makes when she smiles. It's pretty much adorable.

She's not a big pacifier girl, but will take chew on it sometimes in her bed.

She's ticklish under her arms.

She turned over for the first time when I had her with me in a dressing room trying on dresses. She's done it several more times, but doesn't seem to be in a rush, and I'm not pushing her. She's not a huge fan of tummy time. She spits up everytime she lays on her stomach.

She is super portable and always happy. The kids and I try to leave the house each morning to do something whether it's out for a playdate, swimming lessons or just to the store so Layla doesn't always get a "proper" nap. She usually takes a cat nap during drive time and is content the rest of the time.

She is ready for some real food. She watches me like a hawk when I eat. She's not grunting for food or anything yet, so I'm waiting until she's six months old. Honestly I don't want to add anything else to our routine and the doctor is okay for me to wait so I am. She still nurses six times a day. I think we'll be able to drop the 10pm feeding soon. She can go 4 hours between the first and second feedings but usually eats every three hours after that.

When she's nursing she grabs/squeezes/pinches my arms, even leaving me with bruises! When I say "Ouch!" Matson is quick to come over and tell Layla in a really high voice, "Don't hurt momma, Layla." It sorta makes me melt! :)

Anytime Reese or Matson are upset they want a hug from Layla. She seems to help everybody around here.

She loves listening to books and holding board books. Reese and Matson like reading to her.

She grabs everything. Reese is learning how to pry Layla's fingers off her hair.

She continues to have major blowouts. We've tried Pampers, Huggies and Luvs and nothing contains her. I've decided to go with the cheapest.

She's growing so fast!

She's lovely. :)
