We have already finished the two vacation bible schools for the summer, one at our church and one at the church where Matson goes to preschool. I volunteered at ours one week and then dropped the kids off at the other the next week. It was a welcomed break after a really busy weekend.
Father's Day weekend was special and full of lots of fun events. Friday night was the culmination of VBS at our church with dinner and games. Saturday morning was bowling for the kids' birthdays. Saturday evening was a family dinner/birthday party for the kids. Sunday morning was Layla's baptism and the VBS singing at the beginning of the worship service. After church we headed out for brunch at Benjy's to celebrate Layla's baptism and Father's Day. Sunday afternoon we all slept well!! Oh, I should also mention we had a house full of people for the weekend. My bro and his family came down and my parents were here too, but stayed at a hotel. Wise, very wise.
We've been swimming as much as we can, although it's very difficult for me with Miss L in tow. Matt has been taking them on the weekends and sometimes Layla and I tag along. Since she isn't sitting up it's not so easy with her in the pool. The kids are enjoying weekly swimming lessons and they are getting pretty good. Reese graduated to a marlin and is learning the breaststroke and Matson is now a dolphin learning the backstroke and working on his freestyle or "big arms".
I have lots more to document and lots of pictures to go along with everything mentioned above, but I just have to find the time to get to it all. I was inspired by my own blog yesterday when I looked back at Matson's baby pictures. I really really want to update this ole bloggity blog more b/c I LOVE that I have so many years to look back on. Can't believe I've been blogging for almost 6 years. Stay tuned...
