rad & bear

yep, it's that time again! reese is already half a year old! she had her 6 month check up at the doctor today and she's growing very well. she's basically at 50% on everything...14 lbs 2 oz, 25 1/2" long and 16 1/2" head circumference. i think we will start her on rice cereal tomorrow b/c she just stares so intently on matt and my food. poor thing, can't get any of our yummy food. we'll see what she thinks of rice cereal. so, here is her 6 month picture with the bear. we couldn't get a good picture without her hands in her mouth, so here she is...

3 & 2 month pics

side note...i don't know what to do with her hair. i don't have any bows b/c i'm not really a bow kind of gal, but i'm thinking i need the bows just to tame that hair! it's pretty out of control! i tried putting it in a ponytail on top of her head. it was cute sticking straight up and it stayed for a little while, but it's hard to get my big fingers in those tiny rubber bands around her fine hair. ...it's enough to stress over my own hair, but now i'm stressing over my daughters hair! any suggestions???

My daughters never had that much hair at that age, but my friends with daughters used velcro bows that kept a baby's fine hair in place.

Embrace the crazy hair. There is no way to tame it- at least there isn't with Steven's. Of course with a girl you have more options with bows and ribbons but why fight it?! We just say that it's his trademark/signature look. It makes them unique!

Yep, I'm not a huge "bow girl" either, but bows it is - it keeps the hair in place. I also used barrettes for a while, but Isa quickly learned to take those out of her hair. Now we use those tiny rubber bands all the time.
