Lemonade stand

Reese and Matson set up a lemonade stand one Friday evening this summer. 

Reese got the idea from Max and Ruby. She must have asked a hundred times if she could do it, but first she had to learn what it takes to get a business going. After we made a game plan and took a trip to the store, the kids and I made cookies to go along with the lemonade.  Then we got everything all set up. We started out undercover b/c it was starting to sprinkle, but the rain held off and we were able to move it out closer to the street for more business.

 Matson was a great cookie assistant.

Officially open for business with a cup of lemonade and a chocolate chip cookie costing a whooping 25 cents!

Our little neighbor a few doors down was the first customer.

 And then the little girls across the street came over.

No surprise Poppy stopped by for some lemonade and ended up with Layla in his arms. :)   These baby girls are a couple months apart, Layla being older.

 We are learning Layla loves other babies.

Our next door neighbor is so nice to always let us play in his yard. He even gave Reese a very special silver dollar coin to buy his lemonade and cookie.

Some of our church friends even walked a few streets over to help support our daughters efforts.

Reese made out with over $15 which included some generous donations. With the push from Mom and Dad, she paid her assistant $2 for his efforts and is now saving her money for a rainy day. As of today, 9/28, she actually doesn't know where her wallet is. I do though. ;)

I'll admit that the thought of doing a lemonade stand was more overwhelming in my head than it turned out to be. It turns out I loved it! It brought lots of our neighbors out to mingle in the front yard and our daughter made some mullah, so it was all worth it!
