our new digs

wow, i can't believe it's been so long since i've posted. i was doing so good, but then we had to go and BUY A HOUSE and get all busy! i think that might be the best excuse yet for a lull in postings. :)

we have finally graduated from apartment living (10 years for hilary!) to our very own house with a backyard. reese thinks we got a backyard with a house and in a way i think that's true. we've been spending LOTS of time outside enjoying the beautiful weather houston is getting right now. we are enjoying walks around the neighborhood and to the park just down the street and meeting our new neighbors. everyone has been so friendly and welcoming.

we just LOVE our new house. each day we are so happy to be able to call it home. it's a cute 1950's home that was fully remodeled from a 2/1 to a 3/2, so no work for us! yippee! there's enough work to be done without having to remodel anything. do i get an amen from other homeowners??? :) the family who lived here before us is in the home remodeling business and did an amazing job on this house. it's a small house, but they utilized all the space, for which we are thankful.

you may be wondering why all the blinds are crooked in the picture above.

need i say more??? matson's the new neighborhood watch.

we are still getting settled, but i'll share a few details of the house...

the backyard. it has a nice size patio and a lovely fountain.

our new pets. we inherited two fish. one we've named cheeto and the other name we are still working on.

the big tall pine trees. we love to watch the squirrels play around in the trees.

the kids' and guest bathroom. the CLAW FOOT TUB! the faucet. the wainscoting. the color. i love it! i didn't change a thing.

that faucet up close. way cool.

the pretty purple flowering tree in the frontyard.

the mama gina. the what? the mama gina. that's what this piece of furniture is called. it serves as the kitchen island. it moves and unfolds. this view shows one side folded up.

the glass in the front door. it shines pretty rainbows on the wall in the evening. please knock on it. we love visitors!

special thanks to our parents who helped us with the kids, unpacking and cleaning last week!! we are very grateful for your help!
