hide my smile

sometimes it's so hard to hide my smile in order to keep from encouraging bad behavior. the latest one was today. reese was holding on to the headboard on my bed and counting while jumping. that's not allowed in our household. i opened the door to see what was going on (i already knew.) and she didn't notice so when she started counting and jumping again "1, 2..." i chimed in at "3!" she turned around so fast, dove into the covers and didn't look up for about 30 seconds! i couldn't say a word for fear of laughing! i had to hide my face behind the wall to hide my smile. :)

another example was the other day when reese got in trouble (can't remember for what now) and she got a spanking. actually she got two spankings because of the temper tantrum she threw on the way to get the one spanking. (yes she throws temper tantrums!) anyway, i gave her the spankings and she turned around and said "well, that wasn't so bad." ah! i can't tell you everything that immediately ran through my head, but i let her slide without a harder one that time b/c i had to keep from bursting out laughing! thankfully matt heard from outside the room, so we laughed together later. what a girl!

Love that pic of her--you've got a firecracker on your hands! Sometimes it is REALLY hard not to laugh!

Spankings are only a temporary control; she will so learn to reason and then they will be a thing of the past. She is a "sharp one". Love your posts.
